Message from the director

I am pleased to welcome you to the website of Lyceum Turan.

For more than 20 years, our Lyceum, as part of the Turan Educational Corporation, has been sowing “the reasonable, the good and the eternal” and, like any secondary education institution, guarantees the fulfillment of tasks stipulated by the state mandatory standards.

But how is our lyceum different from other schools of the city?

You can get a more complete picture by studying in detail the materials of the site. I will mention just a few positions. To begin with, the main principle in the construction of the pedagogical system of lyceum is student orientation.  To discover and promote the intellectual, creative, physical and social abilities of a child – this is the aim to which the efforts of not only the highly qualified teaching staff of the Lyceum, but also university scientists and the many support services of the entire Turan Corporation are directed.

First of all, we have created a cultural and educational environment that provides all conditions for the harmonious development of our students.

Safety and comfort, healthy technologies and a high level of material and technical support of the pedagogical process – the first thing that becomes evident when you get acquainted with our lyceum.

The linguistic competence of our students is significantly higher than most of their peers. To implement this, special educational projects on Kazakh, Russian and English have been developed and successfully implemented. For example, the school «Speaking club» closely cooperates with the international language school «Interpress International House», and English lessons are conducted with a native speaker. The school has been awarded Cambridge English Exam Preparation Centre 2018, Cambridge English Language Assessment with the right to use the digital logo in 2018. Students in grades 10-11 study additional courses: Business Communication and International Relations and Multilateral Diplomacy.

Modern man cannot be successful without being sufficiently competent in the field of information technology. Realizing this, we involve our children in innovative projects such as «3D-modeling, 3D-design, 3D-printing» (on the basis of the City Center of New Technologies) and the project «International Engineering Cluster on Informatics: Russia – Kazakhstan». Cooperation is carried out with the mathematical department of the Correspondence School of the specialized educational and scientific center of the Novosibirsk State University.

Our lyceum works in full-time conditions. After lessons – classes in clubs, sections, etc. Robotics, choreography, chorus and singing, chess, piano, as well as drama and art studio «Inspiration» are very popular. In the afternoon there are also self-study classes where students do their homework under the guidance of a teacher.

We attach great importance to the leadership skills of our students. High school students actively participate in the annual international conference «Turan Model United Nations», devoted to the discussion of topical issues of international importance in the format of debates, which are closest in form to the meetings of UN committees. Our children develop social and business projects to improve the environment around them. They are preparing to change the world for the better.
